By Alexandra Brinker

It’s a hot and humid summer day and you are just dying for something refreshing. Are you thinking a cold slushie or popsicle? But do you really want all those empty calories and sugars that will only give you a sugar high that will quickly lead to a crash? Looking for a healthy recipe?

A simple, slimming solution: mango lassi! It can be made in minutes and tastes exactly like a mango milkshake – but with added nutritional benefits. Who wouldn’t want that?

mango lassi

Mango lassi is a yogurt based drink that originated from India and Pakistan. It is simply made with yogurt, water and mango pulp. To make increase the nutritional content, add 2 scoops of MCT Lean vanilla protein powder and 1 tablespoon MCT Lean Oil for that extra boost to your day without all the extra sugars.

Fun fact: Authentic Indian lassi is the world’s #1 smoothie and is a tradition in India dating back to the very beginnings of civilization (1000 B.C)!

Okay, now that we know mango lassi has nutritional benefits, lets dig a little deeper. Mango lassi naturally contains five probiotic cultures such as L. Acidophilus, Bifidobacterium, Propionibacterium, Freudenreichii, and L. Casei. They are proven to support the immune system, help fight infection and fatigue, promote digestive health, mineral absorption, and even ease symptoms of lactose intolerance, and support healthy cholesterol levels.

What more could you want? If you are lactose intolerant – you might want to try this out with lactose free yogurt! Take it from someone who is gluten and lactose free. This drink makes my stomach feel great both inside and out. And hey, if this drink has been served since 1000 B.C, then there must be something amazing about it! Try this healthy recipe below:
